FITS DOGS WITH A 13 TO 19 INCH NECK — This is the Small size in Herm Sprenger's Ultra-Plus prong collar range: 2.25mm prong gauge, 16-inch base chain length. This is an adjustable prong collar — the 16-inch base length can be extended by adding additional prong links to fit necks up to 19 inches. For dogs up to approximately 40 lbs. HOW PRONG-COLLAR SIZING WORKS — Unlike a buckle collar, a prong collar is a fixed-link chain that you size by adding or removing individual prong links until it fits snug and high on your dog's neck, right behind the ears. The collar should sit with about 2 inches of fitting allowance — tight enough that it cannot slip over the head. This Small collar ships with the base 16-inch configuration and accepts additional prong links (sold separately) to reach up to 19 inches.
